Key Largo is perhaps best-known for its stunning weather year-round. From warm, breezy winters averaging between lows of 67°F and highs of 78°F to sunny summers with lows of 78°F and highs of 85°F, there’s pretty much never a bad time to visit. Whatever season or month you plan your stay with us, you can always find plenty of things to do in Key Largo.

Boating

Thousands of boaters hit the waves every year in Key Largo to soak up some sun and take in the scenery. Whether you are into recreational boating or have more serious aims in mind, the Keys have so much to offer from marine sanctuaries and North America’s largest living coral reef to sightseeing tours and vibrant nightlife. You’ll have a fantastic time both on and off the water.

Fishing

Islamorada has earned its title as the sportfishing capital of the world, but you can find world-class fishing almost anywhere in the Keys, including Key Largo. Drop your line in the backcountry, from the shore, or in the open waters to catch snapper, billfish, tarpon, Mahi Mahi, and more on your next Florida vacation.

Kayaking and Paddle Boarding

Taking a slow, relaxed tour of Key Largo by way of a kayak or paddleboard can give you a whole new view of this beautiful slice of paradise. Look for manatees as you navigate dense mangrove mangals or kayak to remote lagoons for a picnic lunch and bird-watching.

Jet Ski Rentals

You can kick the level of excitement up a notch or several with jet ski rentals. A jet ski puts more power in your hands as you zip around the shimmering blue waters surrounding Key Largo with the wind whistling past your face. Stop and admire the glimmering white beaches or keep cutting through the crisp salty waters.

Dive and Snorkel Charters

One of our favorite things to do in Key Largo, diving and snorkeling is a must here at the home of the world’s third largest coral reef. Key Largo’s crystal clear waters and diverse sea life make it a popular choice for diving and snorkeling aficionados in search of incredible creatures, brilliant corals, or even the Christ of the Abyss when conditions are just right.

Sunset Cruises

The fun doesn’t have to stop when the sun goes down. Florida Keys’ sunsets are breathtaking, with brilliant shades of lush scarlet, juicy tangerine, silken honey, rich purple, and burnt umber. While you can bask in the sunset’s glow from virtually anywhere on the Keys, we find that sunset cruises can give you the best experience of the nightly magic, with the sense of sailing into the sunset and being close enough to touch it. Sunset cruises often feature a variety of other activities, too, including wine-and-cheese tasting or even dinners.

When planning your Florida vacation, you’ll also need to consider a place to stay. They feature everything you need, including kitchenettes, bathrooms, dinettes, living spaces, TVs, and WiFi, to feel comfortable and at home during your visit to the Florida Keys.
