34th Annual Presidential Sailfish Tournament
In January, hundreds of anglers will descend upon Islamorada, Florida to participate in the 34th Annual Presidential Sailfish Tournament. Also known as the “Sportfishing Capital of the World,” Islamorada is known for its diverse marine life and vibrant culture. The Gold Cup Sailfish Championship: Know Before You Go
During the Gold Cup Sailfish Championship, anglers compete in three premier sailfish events held in and around Islamorada. Each tournament boasts its own rules and entry fees, and anglers compete individually for the Championship Ring. As a member of a team, you’ll compete for fantastic cash prizes and the Gold Cup Trophy. Proceeds from the event go toward conservation efforts and the Islamorada Charter Boat Association.
The Presidential Sailfish Tournament is the final Gold Cup event, and it takes place January 19 – 21, 2024. This is among the most prestigious fishing tournaments, dating back to 1990 when former president George H.W. Bush founded it. Since that time, the Presidential Sailfish Tournament has only grown in popularity, attracting anglers from around the world in search of the elusive sailfish.
